It SNOWED!

This morning it was cold and as I was taking Dane to work, it was raining and it slowly turned into snowing. So it snowed for about an hour and stopped. It was neat. I know the Germans do not like the cold, but it's neat for a Florida girl. I am sure I will get sick of the snow soon enough. Right now at my house it is 39 degrees outside, a little cold!

Jarom's socks

Why did no one tell me there was wiggle proof socks out there, Melody? I bet I spend most of the day putting socks back on Jarom. He does not like anything on his feet, like his mom!! I was at the PX and a friend told me about these wiggle proof socks, so I got some there for $8.00 (expensive). THEY WORK! Jarom has not taken them off ALL DAY!

On a sad note, my niece is in the Hospital in Florida and needs everyone's prayers. See their blog http://www.shipleystales.blogspot.com/ I just started crying reading this off their blog. Since I am in Germany, this is the only way I hear about anything except emails. I sure pray she gets better Melody!

Day Light Savings Time

Well, Saturday was Day Light Savings Time here in Germany. SSSSHHHH!!! Don't tell the kids! They have been going to sleep at 6:30-7 every night since. They do get up early, but we have to anyways to take Dane to work. We are just a little nicer in the mornings now!!

We have been busy getting our check list done for the deployment. I do not know how I am going to take care of this house and huge yard all by myself (little stressful), but I am up for the challenge. I know I can do it IF THE KIDS LET ME! I am so thankful that the Army helps with child care for deployed families. I get 16 hrs per kids free a month. That might just keep me from going crazy, just playing.

Everything else is going great. I even have a lunch date with my husband today :)

My cuties

I think I am already having withdrawals knowing he is leaving soon. Last week I called him almost everyday asking him to go to lunch with me. Friday I called again but I did not say anything. He said, "you don't want to go to lunch again, do you?" I said yes of course. My husband is not much for going out to eat. Growing up his family only got to go out to eat on their birthday as a treat. He is used to "Home cooked meals." I need to do better with that! I treasure every moment I have with him!

Mom loves me!!

I got a package today with my favorite chewy Almond Granola bars. They are only sold at Walmart. I can not get them here in Germany. It's funny how you miss the simple things you can't have anymore. Thanks mom, I love ya!

Thursday

Today was full but fun! It started off by us being able to sleep in until 6:00 am!!! Dane did not have PT this morning, hey! Jarom and I went to church for a kids music class. I think we might have a drummer in our house!! Later in the day, we went to Devin's school pumpkin patch. All the pumpkin were like gone within 30 mins. Next time I think they need more pumpkins! They had some games and candy but about 45 mins of it and I was ready to go! After we picked up Dane we had PIZZA, my favorite!

Monday

Monday night I got a girls night out!! I went to a "Coffee" for Dane's unit. This is a social for senior wives(husbands with leadership positions). It was a lot of fun. I met some really good people. I won the door prize, so I got some candles :) Devin was crying when he saw me because he missed me so much. I could tell he was VERY TIRED!

Jarom is getting faster then I can keep up. I just went into one room for a minute and then I could not find him. I heard something upstairs.....yes. He went all the way upstairs and he was crawling fast for Devin's room! Big brothers room always seems fun! I just count my blessings he did not fall down the stairs. Maybe an angel was behind him :)

Messy, Messy, Messy

I started feeding Jarom spagetti and he kept taking it out of his month, looking at it and then putting it back in his month and then eat it. It got to be really messy, so I just put the entire jar on his tray. I will not do that again, BIGGER MESS! I have forgotten how babies make such a mess while eating real food!

Dinner

Thursday night we went to Dinner with Dane's new unit (only Officers and above). They have these dinners to welcome new people and say goodbye to the ones leaving that have had leadership. I really liked the view, so we had someone take a picture of us.

As most of you know, Dane is scheduled to deploy very soon. The rumor is mid November now. I think Dane told me the tanks are being shipped off very soon. And Dane's office computer stuff is already packed. We have many meetings to go to about the deployment this month. We bought Dane a laptop computer with a webcam today so we can stay better in touch with each other. I believe a laptop is a good marriage investment!!!!

Dane's new Unit

Starting this past Monday, Dane got new orders for 172 Support Battalion and is in charge of S3. I am not really sure what he will be doing yet myself, but he is really happy! The person over the entire battalion was at the laundry mat and Dane was there (those 45 days gone). Dane did not know who he was at the time and said, "I wish I had a broom to sweep this place up" the guy seemed surprised. Dane said, " it's the boyscout in me. Always leave things better then when you found them." Well, days later Dane got called in and was told he was wanted in the 172 Support Battalion and if he wanted to go. They really appreciate him there and his hard work. What a blessing how things just fall into place. He will be, hopefully, even more safer while deployed now :)

Busy Weekend!

Friday Devin had a field trip (Volksmarch to the Fall Festival). They took pictures of the kids before their field trip wearing there daddy's wear, SO CUTE! Devin said he was much stronger after wearing all the gear, very heavy!

Us walking on our Volksmarch. They put up an Army bridge thing for us the walk under, cool. It was SO SO SO SO COLD. It started to rain, so the fall festival with the jumpy things was not open yet until the rain stopped. So the class went back to school.

After the sun came out, Devin, Jarom and I went back to the Fall Festival and played a little until Dane got off work.

Devin asked the face painter to paint Thomas the Train and she did not know who that was. I said just a blue train. Devin still loves trains!

Saturday, we went to an Army Flea Market and founds lots of good deals like heavy clothes for Jarom and more toys. Then we went to Ufra 2008 for the Germans which was like a Fair. They had a museum with the Tomb of Tutankhamun, Valley of the Kings 1361BC-1352BC. They actually had the mummy of Tutankhamun there and all the findings. The picture above is one you could buy from the gift shop. Of course, they would not let you take pictures in the museum. It was really neat to see all the Egyptian stuff.

PS, Melody, we did watch Conference the best we could being 6 hrs ahead of Florida time!

Fall is HERE!

Well, you can tell fall is here in Germany. The leaves are turning and I love all the colors. Living in Florida I do not see the leaves turn like this. Here is some pictures of our backyard.

Below is Dane in our apple tree. The apples here are finally good to eat. We have so many. We decided to pick apples as a family and take lots to church and give away to the members. Hopefully Devin learned something from that. He stood at the church door giving the bags of apples to the members. They were all gone by the end of church.
