Tiger Cubs 2009

I started Devin in Tiger Cubs. We have had 2 Tiger cub meetings. On the very first one, they asked if anyone could be an assistant Den leader to help. No one raised their hand, so I said I would help. Afterwards they go on and on about everything involved more meeting and training. What am I getting myself into??We had our first pack meeting Friday which was very interesting. Which our Den leader did not show up for, so we will see how this turns out.
Future Tiger!

Trip to Rothenburg, (no kids)

How I enjoy going on a little day trip specially with no kids. To top it off, the trip with free through the Army Community Services! Rothenburg has appeared in several films, notably fantasies. It was the inspiration for the village in the 1940 Walt Disney movie Pinocchio. It was also the location for the Vulgarian village scenes in the 1968 family movie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It is sometimes mistaken as the town at the end of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971); that town was Nördlingen.

Rothenburg is also know for it's Christmas shops all year long. Here is one of them. The shop keeps going and going, so pretty!

There is a story behind this clock were every hour the windows open to show the 2 men drinking beer. I guess in 1631 the Swedish man and the German man had to drink so many liters of beer. The German man won, so the city was saved from destruction. Silly!

I finally found the famous spot!

A famous street in Rothenburg called Plönlein with Koboldzellersteig and Spitalgasse Wouldn't you love to put your kids in here sometimes, just joking! They had a torcher museum and this was outside.

The city is also know for these little round sugar dough type things.

Our little town pictures

A few days ago we took a walk around our little town and explored a little. We found some interesting things on our way.
You twist this thing and it brings up water to the bucket. When it gets full it falls down, cool!

I wanted a really nice picture of the kids in front of this fountain. This is what I got!
This is Devin's way of keeping Jarom still during picture time. I just have to laugh now that I see it! The stories we will tell our children when they get older.

I just have to say Devin has really found a sport he loves! He had a soccer game on Friday. Near the end of the second game he played (tell you how much energy he has) he got the ball. He started running with the ball towards his goal. He ran 3/4 of the field as the crowd is cheering him on, "go Devin." He kick the ball and MADE A GOAL!!! I felt like I was back in a college football when one of the players start running all the way down the field and makes a touchdown! I was so proud of him. I had people the next day telling me how great Devin did that night. Some said, "was that Devin"? Just the season before Devin would bearly keep his attention on the ball at times. I think he has just clicked with soccer! I am a silly mom. I almost started to tear up. He was so great!

Another Trip to Bamberg (only one child)

I took a trip with the Stake Relief Society to Bamberg, Germany for a city tour. It was fun especially since I only had Jarom! Here are some fun pictures of our little day trip.

My Jarom!

My cutie Jarom
Jarom so different than Devin. I think it is so cute he will hold on to his blanket and drink everywhere! Don't forget the pacifier, of course! This just shows me how different he is than Devin. Devin was never been attached to anything. I love Devin, but I can only handle "one" Devin. I have just grown to appreciate a "different" child. I believe Heavenly Father knew I needed Jarom in my life to give me hope. This is one reason why I love my husband so much because he loves to be "different."

Little Craft!

I have been in several homes were they have "The living Christ" framed with pictures of Christ all around. I have always thought that was neat, and I have wanted to do it. Well, I finally took the time to do it today.

Update on Hampster

At church I told some people about Devin's lost hampster. Someone thought about bring a dog over to tell us were the hampster might be. I had 8 people here looking for this silly hampster (they all offered to help). We did not find the hampster, but the kids had a blast playing outside with the ponds and picking plums off my tree! So Sunday night I closed all the room downstairs and put a piece of carrot in each room to see which one would be gone in the morning. THE KITCHEN!! I saw my kitchen mat had been chewed on. Devin and I could hear something, so we looked all over. I was just hoping he was not behind the cabinets were I could not get to. I open my turning cabinet and some hampster food came out. I turned it some more and there she was! She is back in her cage safe and sound. I feel much better knowing she is not walking around in my house. Dane thought this entire thing was funny!

Need ideas???

I feared this day when I would look into the hampster cage, and it is gone!! I guess Devin never put the hampster back! Any ideas how to trap a hampster? I guess Devin is just not responsible enough to have a pet yet.
