What day is it?

I have to keep reminding myself today is Friday since Devin is off school. I keep thinking it is Saturday. I am just wishing the days to go by so Dane will be home. We have 18 more days (give or take some days for security reasons). In one way, it seems so close but on the other hand it is SO FAR AWAY! I am just trying to stay busy, so I do not think about it. It is very cold 38 degrees and raining here, so we are stuck inside. Is it November yet?

Fun day with Jarom

Jarom and I went on another FREE trip with the Army to a pumpkin patch about 30 min away. You actually go out and cut your pumkin off the vine. It was really cold and muddy, but it was fun! These red looking pumpkins are good for baking and making soup I was told!

Germany sure has lots of different pumpkins!

One of the few words Jarom will say is "Bus." He will scream it in the car when he sees one. He was excited to ride on a Bus today!
Shhhh, don't tell Devin we went because he was at school! I would have liked to bring Devin, but I can not control the time of a free trip!

Well, the gym is already for the guys to come back home. All the Battalions came together and made a wall full of I love you signs. The "I heart U Daddy" and the blue people (our family) is from Devin.

I feel like I am about to go crazy. I booked this great cruise for us when Dane gets back. We flight to Rome and then cruise to Savona Italy, Olympia Greece, Athens Greece, Rhodes, Greece, Limassol Cyprus, and Cairo Egypt. I am so excited, but now I found out your passport has to be good for 6 months after your trip for the cruise line and airlines! Dane's passport expires 5 months after our trip. I found out I can not renew his passport with a POA and he can not do it in Iraq. He will get home like 4 weeks before we leave, and they will not expedited passports here in Germany only in the US. We can not get our money back for this cruise. I feel like crying! Can anything else go wrong?

Pumpkin patch

As you pick you pumpkin this year and carve it, think about this little story.

A woman was asked by a coworker, "What is it like to be a Christian?
"The coworker replied, "It is like being a pumpkin."
God picks you from athe patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.
Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed.
Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see."

Lasagna Rolls with Herbed Cheese

I have been thinking of ideas to do for Relief Society craft day. I got over 20 free wood oval shaped pieces of wood and was trying to see what I could come up with. With the help of my mom, here is what I came up with.
I got Old English scratch cover for wood and stained it. Then I took a picture I made of my grandparents and family and burned the edges. I told Devin never do what I was doing! Very bad idea to say that to him! It just made him even more interested. Then I glued it onto the wood. Now it has a antique look. Free craft!
Lasagna Rolls
Now you can tell I must not be to stressed if I am cooking! I think it really does help to write things on the blog. I felt so much better after writing about my crazy life. My mom mailed me this easy lasagna roll receipt.
12 Lasagna noodles
1 cup soft herbed cheese (Boursin or Alouette)
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
1 1/2 cups prepared pasta sauce
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Just cook the noodles, mix herbed cheese, mozzarella, basil together. Spoon a thin layer of cheese mixture onto each noodle. Roll up each noodle. Pour pasta sauce on top of each roll with Parmesan cheese and bake until cheese melts. Lasagna so easy the kids can make it! I like that.

Fall is here

I looked at my blog for October of last year to see when the leaves started to turn red because they are red and falling already. It was Oct 2, one year ago today. I also notice Oct 30 it snowed! I am getting ready for that cold weather! I have been stocking up on winter clothes for Jarom. Those Florida clothes I have from Devin aren't going to work here. I just have this funny idea that the boys will be in the snow a lot this year with Dane home. Poor kids did not get that experience last year with me. I'm a Florida girl!

Life is getting busy with the kids and the preparing for the guys coming home. I am on the Welcoming home committee and formal ball committee which I like to do. I am almost to the point were "my bowl is almost to full." I am still Relief Society President, assistant Tiger cub leader, Battalion volunteer coordinator, point of contact person for FRG (families), Soccer, taking care of a huge yard and house, and raising 2 very active boys without help. I am sure there is something I am missing. I need a vacation!
