Germany Christmas Market

I found these cute Christmas stamps at the thirft store. Now Devin can make his own Christmas cards. He really likes playing with them.
Friday we went to the Schweinfurt Christmas Market down town. It was really fun with lots of food and things to buy. Devin loved the different rides incuding a pony ride. IT WAS REALLY COLD, but we survived. I really enjoyed the Christmas music. It really made me in the Christmas spirit!

You can't leave without getting cotton candy for your kids!

Today is my birthday, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

After many attempts of trying to catch Jarom walking on camera, I finally got it. He has been doing more and more everyday. He is 11 month tomorrow! I can not believe it.

Christmas

I finally got this adorable picture of the kids to send to Dane for his Holiday message in the paper (see the next post) and the file is to big to upload! Not fair! I even went to the PX and got Santa hats just for this picture. At least I have a cute picture to share.
Today we went to Devin's school and played PTA Bingo, lots of fun. I was trying to win Polish Pottery, but I did not win :( Maybe next time.

Monday

It snowed here again, but the snow was a lot easier to get off the car. It was more fluffy instead of hard icy snow, not fun! I like the fluffy snow much better. Devin thinks it is fun to eat the snow. I told him this morning it had bugs in it so he would stop!
I have talked with Dane, he is doing well. VERY BUSY, working until 9:00pm. If you want to send messages of love and support to their men and women stationed overseas here is the link

My new boots

Well, about 10:00am I could see other people driving around and the roads had less snow. Let me tell you, cleaning snow off a car is not that easy! So I decided to take the kids to the Super Saturday (babysitting thing), so I could have some free time to myself. My goal today was to find some boots. I see all these Germans with these cute boots that look so warm. But of course I did not want to spend tons of money on them, so it was hard to fine. I was ready to leave down town when I saw these boots outside a store for 24 euro. I also found some cute German shoes for Jarom and a scarf for me. It was really cold here, 28 degrees.

When I picked up the kids, do you think Jarom cried the entire time???? YES, that boy! At least I feel loved! Devin did not want to leave! I feel a little sick, but I had a good day.

They tell me it never snows here!!

We woke up this morning, Saturday to this......

I do not know if I should go anywhere. Living in Florida, I do not have much experience driving in snow! Good thing I just ordered some "ALL" weather tires!

Now Devin!!!!

I got a phone call from Devin's school that he has been throwing up, wonderful. So he is home now but can not keep anything down. I am still hoping they are better for tomorrow, so I can have a couple of hours to myself.

My baby is sick!

Jarom was up a lot last night coughing and then crying because it hurts. Poor baby! Hopefully he will feel better by Saturday. I have signed up the kids for Super Saturday were they watch the kids for 5 hours and it's FREE for me since Dane is deployed. I know Jarom will not last 5 hours without me, but maybe I can go shopping for a couple of hours with NO KIDS. I'm excited!

Ward International/Thanksgiving Dinner

I planned our ward International/Thanksgiving Dinner on Wednesday. We had a very good turn out with some new faces so that was wonderful. The surprising thing was, we actually had food left over!!! This never happens. Good things I only did one turkey and one ham! The night was fun. We learned some traditions from other cultures including American Thanksgiving. See Devin at the last picture.

For our American Thanksgiving, I thought about dressing Devin as a Pilgrim and another primary girl as an Indian (She was for Halloween). I told the story about the Pilgrims coming over on the Mayflower and how the Indians helped the Pilgrims with food and such. I was almost over when Devin whispered to me, "what about me giving a hug?" I had told him earlier I wanted him to hug the little girl showing the Pilgrims and Indians were good friends. So at the end Devin gave the girl Indian a hug and everyone thought that was cute.

Dane has deployed!

I have waited a few days to post that Dane has left for his 365 day deployment to Iraq. You never know who might read your blog, and I wanted him to travel safe. My first few days alone have been busy with kids and getting our Relief Society International/Thanksgiving Dinner planned. It is tomorrow night, Wednesday. I will take pictures and post later. I really like staying busy while Dane is gone so I am not so sad. Now it's time to lose some weight!!

Frankfurt, Germany Temple

We had a great opportunity to go to the Frankfurt Temple Saturday. We even had some family names from Dane's side that needed sealing work. It brought me great joy to see my husband in front of me in the Temple. Thankfully we were able to switch off the kids with my Bishop's family which was a great blessing. Sharing your last day with your husband in the Temple brought me great peace in my heart. I do not think I even cried (much) that day! Friday was another story! I am so thankful for a great husband that is so loyal with a great testimony of the gospel. He brings me great strength when I am weak. He is truly my BEST FRIEND. I will miss you and pray you will be safe.

Friday

Friday we went to Dane's work area and some of the families and kids made a banner for the guys deploying. Here are the handprints we did for Dane.

We also went to the Wild Park here which Devin loves!

Have you ever felt like you NEVER wanted the day to end? You do not want to go to sleep because tomorrow will come. Time keeps moving so fast and you can not stop it. This is how I feel TODAY!

Veteran's Day

Today is a day to remember all the men and women that serve our country. I see everyday of my life these men and women train and dedicate their lives to protect us. I am so proud to be an American!

The kids

Here are the kids Sunday morning. Devin is really starting to want to "look nice" for church, even if his tie does not match!!

Believe it or not, this is the first bath picture I have of Jarom. I did lots of bath pictures of Devin as a baby. I guess I just do not have that kind of time anymore!

Church Activity

This last Thursday I organized an activity for Relief Society to make Christmas cards and gift tags. I never realized how many people "love" making the cards and gift tags. A lot of the sisters broughts different things they had at home to share. I also found out our Army craft studio has a die cuter which makes like over 100 differents shapes. I could really have fun in there making things for Devin, etc.

I almost canceled this activity because I was getting so busy and didn't know if the sisters really would like it. I know the spirit kept telling to do it anyways and I am so thankful. I have grown closer to my sisters and felt their spirit. That is what these activities are all about!

Old Skool Bash

Friday night Dane's Battalion had a "Old Skool Bash" which we had to dress up in 60, 70, 80's clothes. Here we are ready to go. I was Pippi Longstocking and Dane was a 70's Hawaiian nerd! We had fun. We found a empty dance room down stairs and Dane got me on the dance floor. We were grooven to the hits of the 60's. It was nice to have a night without kids, but Jarom cried most of the time. They were happy when we came back to pick the kids up!

Dane's favorite child toy growing up

While we were in GA, Dane's mom sent us some of Dane's toys growing up. We were saving these constructs (almost like legos) to give to Devin at the right time. Saturday I remembered them and told Dane, "why don't you give the constructs to Devin now and everytime he plays with them he will remember you while you are gone." Devin was SO SO SO HAPPY!

Halloween

We had a good Halloween this year. I think Devin was old enough to enjoy getting more and more candy and seeing all the different costumes. We went on base to go to all the houses and then went to Amy Fall Festival. It was fun. We got to visit with lots of people there while Devin played and got all his energy out! The Army does not do anything without "JUMPY" things for the kids!
